Why aren't I an adorable little child?

I was chilling with my next door neighbors yesterday, because being a teenager with friends your age is soo over rated. I was pushing Lily, age four, and her friend Megan, also age four, (If you added their ages together, I'd still be twice their age. I'M SO OOOLLLLDDD!) in my hammock.

"Beckham (her 5 year old other-side-next-door-neighbor.)has a hammock," Lily said dreamily.
"Oh, yeah? Does he let you swing in it?" I asked.
"Yeah. I have a crush on Beckham," she said, nonchalantly.
"Me, too," added Megan. "What's a crush? (pronounced twush)"

Awkwardly I tried to explain to a four year old what a crush was, saying, "It's when you like a boy more than any other boy..." But Lily just said, "It's when you think a boy is supercute. I have two crushes."
"On who?" I asked.
"Beckham," she said, impatiently.
"both crushes are on Beckham?" I asked. She nodded.
"I have five crushes on him," Megan added, holding up her five fingers.
"Well, I have 61 crushes on him."
"I have Two THOUSAND crushes on him."
"Me, too. I have two thousand crushes on him, too."

"You both have two thousand crushes on the same boy?" I asked, incredulously. They nodded. "What is so great about Beckham that the cutest girls on the street have two thousand crushes on him?" I asked, to which Lily replied.

"Hannah, have you SEEN him?"

Can't beat that logic. I guess I now have to re-assess my whole knowledge of crushes.

If you think summer is a bummer you are dumber than a plumber.

For all you plumbers out there, please don't take offense. I just thought that rhyme was awful clever, I did. Me talking like a hick? over.

I love summer SO much. I thought I loved spring the most. I was wrong. I love summer. My days have generally consisted of this:

Waking up at 9:40 (I don't have a bed time, but I have a wake up time.)
Feeding the Weed's cat.
Chilling.
Swimming.
Hanging out with friends.
Working on some form of something (online classes, act prep, summer projects, personal progress. Ya know.)
Eating.
Sleeping.
Loving life.

I need to get my camera fixed to I can start putting some pictures on this here blog. Seriously, though, Why am I talking like a hillbilly? It's time to go.

Me, my dad, and Alex Trebek

What's on your TiVo right now? Lost? The Office? Well, apparently I'm smarter than you, or will be soon, because lately me and my dad have been watching....

like all the time. I totally love it!

First of all, let me just say my dad is about the smartest person in the whole world. No joke. He is like play-at-home-jeopardy-champion-of-all-time! He'd be in the ToC for sure. But here's the other thing: I'm actually pretty good! You never really know how much knowledge (or lack thereof) you have up there until it's tested. There's nothing better than saying, "Oh! I just learned that in [insert class you used thought you retained nothing from here]!"

So, if you think you're smart, watch Jeopardy! First it will show you what an idiot you are. And then you'll learn all sorts of crazy stuff. Did you know Egypt and Ethiopia were two of the four free African countries before 1945? Both starting with the letter 'E'. Now you do. Thanks, Alex.

I'm funny, right? RIGHT??

I feel really bad when the most excited I get is the excitement I feel when something is about to end. But I'm so glad the assembly will be over after tomorrow. And I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad the English project ended today.

When I stood up to start giving the presentation, Smith said "Wait. Before you start, take a deep breath, and think 'It's over.'" I did so. It was amazing. You can tell how terrible it was by the way the teacher even felt sorry for me. I won't go into detail, because it's too graphic for children, the elderly, and pregnant women, but it was horrendous.

MCing for the assembly has been fun, and I have a feeling I will enjoy preforming it up there, but right now I feel SO unfunny. I keep needing constant validation, and I lash out at others. Small malfunctions cause me to panic, and I remind myself of...OH MY GOODNESS

What Andy said is true! This can't be happening! Why can't I be a Tracy or a Twofer, or even a Frank for heaven's sake!

Which reminds me, 30 rock is on tonight. Oh, the joy I feel every thursday night. Unless it gets cancelled for Office reruns. Grrrr.

The evolution of Hannah's music

SHOUT OUT to my friend Lexi for her inspirational blog post, Here

For those of you too lazy to check out her blog which is approximately 39 times awesomer than mine, the inspirational post is that of music nostalgia. Her time line of musical evolution got me thinking about myself, of course, and I decided to follow in her footsteps.

Era 1- Musical influence: my mother.
From birth until about the fourth grade, my only musical influence was my mommy. So, I spent most my time listening to "Anything you can do, I can do better" from Annie get your gun repeatedly. If I wasn't listening to that, I was probably listening to School House Rock, Disney movie soundtracks, or Feel Good Rock from the '60's. A favorite of mine was "Copacabana" by Barry Manilow. If I can figure out how, I will upload a video of 4 year old Hannah singing an a capella version in her sister's color guard dress. Priceless.

Era 2-Musical influence: Radio Disney.
From 4th to 6th grade I was listening to hits like Aaron Carter, 3LW, Dreamstreet, and others. Later on in this era, in my more mature years, I listened to masters such as Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Jojo, and Yellow Card.

Era 3- Musical influence: My friends
This is the time in my life when I started to flourish. Through 7th and 8th grade, I would raid my friend's musical collections, then sift through and take what I thought was the best. A lot of it also came from searching my older brothers' iTunes. This left me listening to things like The All-American Rejects, Tenacious D, the Shins, Sum 41, Green Day, and Grease. I mixed this in with whatever pop culture told me to like, and called it good.

Era 4-Musical influence: Andy
At this point of my life, I basically just did whatever Andy told me to do. Which is, sadly, the best Era I've had up to this point. For all of 9th grade, I would just lay on the office floor while Andy listened to music, wait for him to get off, then put everything I had just heard on my iPod. I spent most of my time listening to the Format, Cake, Seve Vs Evan, Sufjan Stevens, Death Cab for Cutie, Tegan and Sara, Weezer, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Andrew Bird, and others. This is also the point in my life where I listened to the Naked Brothers Band in excess (don't judge me!!).

Era 5-The Dark ages
When Andy went to college, my musical dynasty came crumbling down. With him gone, and me having grown tired of my old collection, I turned to other sources for my musical inspiration. These included my friends, the radio, and other unreliable places. I spent my time listening to Varsity Fanclub, which I do not suggest you look up. It was a sad, sad time in my history.

Era 6-Musical renaissance
You know when you eat nothing but junk food for so long, you just want to die and never eat anything but salads ever again? I reached that point with terrible music. What did I do? Went back to the basics. During my Andy Music era, I got into "freak folk" or "Naturalisimo" music. Basically really hip indie music. As cool as you can get. So I submerged myself into the raw talent and hipsterness that is Joanna Newsom, Iron & Wine, CoCo Rosie, Greg Weeks, and others. I came out of this rejuvenated and ready to get back in the game.

Era 7-Musical influence varies.
I have reached a point in my life where I feel I have a balanced perspective. I listen to my Page France, my format, and my Julia Nunes to get my pop fixes. I have my Brand New and Saosin for my poserpunk moods. There's Jay-Z and Kanye when I desperately want to be black. My bright eyes when I'm sad, my Rocket Summer when I'm happy. Harry and the Potters for my Wizard rock cravings, Cake when I want to feel legit, Naked Brothers band when I want to feel like a kid again...I could go on an on. The point is, I do what I want.

PS/
I hate group projects. It's ironic; semicolon; because I'm doing one right now.

Oh, 2010, I didn't see you there.

Well, this is awkward. I haven't written in five months, and now I feel all sheepish. But reading my friend's blog has inspired me to get back into shape. Since I didn't post in January, I say I can count it as a new years resolution.

This week has been absolutely INSANE. It's campaign week, and I don't think I'm technically allowed to talk about it online, because that might violate some sort of rule, so let's just say I may or may not be running for senior class secretary. I also may or may not have been making posters, banners, and handouts out the wazoo until the wee hours of the night. Here is a fun little video that me and Ellen made at one in the morning, from our favorite musical, A Very Potter Musical. I'm voldemort, and She's quirrel. Pretend we're men. And that I don't have arms or a body. And...go.

I also was in the Fashion Merchandising class' fashion show, where I strutted my stuff, struck a pose, worked it, et cetera. It was really fun, and I won a free ring, and two free day passes to Cherry Hill! I knew prom was good for someting.

I've also started running with Annie, so that I don't want to kill myself every day in fit for life. I might've repeatedly exclaimed, "Look at me running. Look at me being in shape." But Annie was patient, and we've been having fun. Whoo!

Oh, Can I also just say, I LOVE SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You might hear me shout it every day after school as I'm walking through the parking lot, but I can't help it. There is nothing I love more than spring. Nothing.
