Ode to My Cell Phone
by Hannah Wing

I call you Superphone, the Phone Who Lived,
and it is not with little thought I do.
Those clumsy times you graciously forgive
Though times you've dropped have been more than a few.

As short a fall as from my jacket pocket
As far the void down the Hilton's endless shaft
To my pleasure, but my undeniable shock, it
seemed you were unharmed. In my relief, I laughed.

So courageous, so undaunted you serve
connecting via text, facebook, and twitter.
In my book, I would say that you deserve
a peace prize, but Xiaobo might be bitter.

So, thank you: my tool, my social life, my friend,
your endurance and your patience I commend.

The Merry Month of May

is always a full one. These last two weeks, for example, have been jam packed. AP tests, the talent show, Prom, clogging competitions...just crazy. For those who missed it (or for those who just want to watch it again...can't say I blame you.) I did stand up comedy in the school talent show. I would say it went pretty well, and I had SO much fun doing it.

I also got to go to prom with Amos! It was so much fun! A lot of the kids I went to Disneyland with were in my group. They are dancing fools. We roasted hot dogs and played games on Friday, then danced it up and got smoothies on Saturday. Fun times all around.

My AP literature test went pretty well, I think...I go back and forth on whether I feel extremely confident about it, or completely terrified. Oh, well. It's over.

My AP language test is tomorrow. I'm sure it will be fine. My CE 1050 test is on Thursday (hopefully...he said he might postpone it...to 2 weeks from now! I'm sorry, but if we wait that long, all the knowledge will fall out of my brain.) Once those things are over, I home free! From schoolwork, that is. I still have school and seminary graduation, spring fling, clogging...lots of fun things! May is my favorite month, I think.

This May is a scary one. It's my last one in public school. Once it is over, Summer begins, and at the end of the Summer guess where I am going? College. COLLEGE. Since when have I been old enough to go to college? Last time I checked my best friends were 5-13 years old, my favorite food is still boxed macaroni and cheese, and my favorite show is iCarly.

Oh, well. I never know how to end blog posts. From now on I will just do it like this.

END.

50th Post: The Wonderful World of Disney!

I think it's very fitting that my fiftieth post is my post about Disneyland!

To start off, Let me just say, I love Disneyland. Love it.
Let me also say, I love best buddies, and the kids in that program. Love them.
I've been considering being a special ed teacher for a little while now, but I think it might make me too anxious. I don't know. We'll have to see.

There's really too much to say about the trip and everything that happened, and I'm sure no one really cares...it's never as interesting if you weren't there. So, instead I'm just going to post about the great kids I got to go with!

Me and Cody on Dumbo! Cody is such a sweet person. At dinner the first day he said, "I am really tired, but I don't want to go back yet, because I am so lucky to be here in Disneyland, and don't want to miss a minute of it." He was so excited about everything! From riding the airplane, to staying in the hotel, to going on the rides, to meeting Mickey Mouse. He LOVED meeting Mickey Mouse. He couldn't stop talking about how Mickey gave him a kiss! Being around Cody lifted my spirits and made my experience better. He had such a good attitude about everything, and made me even more excited to be there.

Macie is the cutest girl you'll ever meet. Autopia, or "the cars" was her favorite ride. She loved being their with her "nanny" (grandma) who was also hilarious. Macie was willing to go on every single ride, which none of us expected. We went on Thunder Mountain Railroad together, and she loved putting her hands up in the air! She also loved the Haunted Mansion, she thought it was hilarious. She grabbed Dylan's and my legs so tight when we went on Tower of Terror. She loved her Mickey Balloon, and being pushed in the wheelchair. Who wouldn't?
Me and Miss Rachel were roommates, which was a blast. The only rough part was trying to get her to stop watching Wizards of Waverly Place. :) She got an awesome Mater (from Cars) ear hat. She loved all the rides, and was always a riot. I was sad I wasn't in her group, so I didn't see much of her.

Wesley is my Homeboy. He can be difficult at times, no question, but he was SO much fun. His favorite rides were Space Mountain ("Big Rocket!") and California Screamin' ("Big roller coaster!") He also loved the plane ("Big Airplane!") and riding the bus. He loved Mickey Mouse, and Disneyland in general. Since coming home, every time he sees me he looks at me for a second, gasps as though realizing something shocking, and says "Disneyland!" I say, "Yep, we went to Disneyland, huh Wes?" and nods his Wesley nod and gives me a thumbs up. He always points at the picture of us on the bulletin board and says, "Hannah and Wesley!" It melts my heart.

And, of course, Larkin. Disneyland was a miraculous place where we could hang out together, and she wouldn't ignore me or ask me to leave :) truly the happiest place on earth.

Not Pictured: My dawg, Amos. You'll probably see pictures of him later, because he asked me to Prom! :) I know it's going to be a blast.

Toodle-loo.
